Print your own EAN or Bookland bar codes from Windows! This TrueType and PostScript barcode font set adds the ability to print bar codes to virtually any Windows program. Our software lets you print your own EAN and Bookland codes on your product packaging, stock cards, or you can print sheets of labels with UPC barcodes using our templates and your word processor.

Virtually every retail product sold in Europe requires an EAN (European Article Numbering) barcode. In addition, books the world over require a Bookland bar code. The European Article Numbering system, EAN, was introduced in 1978. There are two different versions of EAN barcodes, EAN 8 and EAN 13, (which can encode 8 and 13 digit numbers, respectively). A special EAN 13 bar code with a 5 digit supplemental code is used to convert ISBN numbers and pricing information to a barcode for books, called Bookland. EAN bar codes encode fixed length numeric data. A check digit is required, and checksum calculation is complex.

Our bar code software and macros calculate checksums and automatically format barcodes for you. Want to print bar codes in Access, Excel, or Word? We include VBA macro functions that do all the work for you. If you don't understand barcodes, just run the BarEAN software program (included in this package) to build bar codes for you. The download version includes a manual in Rich Text format compatible with any Windows word processor. The physical package comes on CD with a printed manual.

Each of these scalable barcode fonts comes in five different aspect ratios, so you can vary the height and width of the bars independent of each other. Note! Before you can print a 13 digit EAN bar code on your product package, you must purchase an EAN barcode assignment from the EAN International. They assign all product numbers, so that each product on store shelves has a unique number. Virtually every retail product sold in Europe requires an EAN (European Article Numbering) bar code.
